THANKS A FORMER LESBIAN

Testimony published in FORUM of PFOX

When I was 11, and again at age 14, I was raped by two of my "best friends". They were both female, and those experiences have impeded and continue to impede now my confidence in women.

These two episodes have certainly influenced the image I had of myself and convinced me to be a lesbian. At that time did not like at no boyfriend and I felt no feeling for them.

When I was raped at age 14, I spoke with a school counselor lady, who gave me the phone number of a local organization for young minorities and transgender people. He told me that in this group I would have found the answers I was looking for. So I went, and after talking to me and told me how I felt, the group gave me a label with which to identify myself: "lesbian."

I completely immersed in that lifestyle. From 14 to 19 years I have slept with over 25 women. I was also part of an organization for young people aged between 14 and 21 years, who taught not to question his homosexuality. For us [gays and lesbians] young, it was more like a club than anything else. There were about sixty young people who met regularly. For us it was a "safe place" where to find a partner of the same sex. In other words, all slept with each other.

We were encouraged to "live our lives with pride, " in the sense that we were all encouraged to "come out" in our schools and to fight for our rights as homosexuals. We demanded equal rights by bringing our partners in the schools of dance, making propaganda in school, and also through displays of affection in public. I was forbidden to attend the prom at the end of year because I wanted to take my girlfriend. However, all was OK because I was doing it in the name of gay rights.

At 20, I felt depressed. Something was missing. My girlfriend and I were let down because she abused me physically, mentally and emotionally.

After breaking up with her I wanted to kill. At 10 am I left hidden by the door to the back of my friend's house and said, "God, help me." E 'was the second most powerful prayer in my life, even though I knew him not, even though I was a blatant sinner and that I did not even utter those words was to pray.

But He heard me and answered my prayer. You see, right after I prayed, I climbed into the car with the intention of crashing and going to kill me, I intentionally accelerated up to 60 mph on a curve where it was not allowed to go more than 25 miles. My car nosed three times then sticking between two trees, upside down. I went outside of the car without a scratch. The police, ambulance and firefighters who arrived at the accident site were all puzzled because they thought of being dead. My car, which should have been destroyed, had a dent on the roof where he had hit a mailbox. When they turned the machine bringing it back with the wheels on the ground, worked perfectly as if nothing had happened. However, I do not believe it was God because I did not believe in that sort of thing.

Psychologists to review stance on gays By DAVID CRARY, AP National Writer
NEW YORK - The American Psychological Association is embarking on the first review of its 10-year-old policy on counseling gays and lesbians, a step that gay-rights activists hope will end with a denunciation of any attempt by therapists to change sexual orientation.
Such efforts — often called reparative therapy or conversion therapy — are considered futile and harmful by many gay-rights activists. Conservative groups defend the right to offer such treatment, and say people with their viewpoint have been excluded from the review panel

Apr 03, 2013 by Don't Fret Pet! | Posted in Parenting

My brother is 15 but is rather immature due to his severe ADHD (he is taking medication but it wears off in the mornings and evenings). My sister is 8 and is slightly self-centred as she is the baby of the family. My par …physical fighting (slapping, pushing, hitting) and strong verbal language (nothing is more shocking to hear my little sister hissing angrily the F word at my brother for hurting her).

    Any tips or strategies?

    • Perhaps it is time for your brother to be reassessed. There was a programme on recently where one young chap had autism (I know it is different), but as he grew, he began getting more aggressive with his mother. She coul …e family a bit of respite and allowed the other children to have a more normal life.
They didn't do it because they didn't care - they did it because they cared. He thrived and the rest of the family were happier.

Ok so i love food and i eat a lot. i used to have a fast metabolism so it was fine but now im gaining wait ( it was bound to happen ) how can i stop eating so much so that i dnt get fat. Thankyou

    • Eat more fruits and vegetables, poop a lot (seriously). Just maintain a good diet, go to the gym, talk to a nutritionist, and please keep eating, don't starve yourself. Because once you do fall off the wagon and start ea …meal. Instead of eating a full plate, eat half, so just eat half of what you normally would eat, just enough were you don't feel full, but enough where you don't feel hungry. It's a weird balance, I know, but good luck!!

Situation: three kids (siblings) I work with, ages 10, 11, 16. Two girls, one boy. All adopted through highly-reputable agency. 16-yr-old: has been self-mutilating for several years after being molested by older boy. Bee …Kids do not sleep with sheets on bed, and they are rarely required to bathe. Dirty clothes, dirty hair. Parents pretend nothing is wrong. They don't do drugs, but have just lost control and won't admit there's a problem.

    • Personally it wouldn't hurt and I would , after what happened to those kids that all died from a very disturbed child with problems like you stated GO FOR IT PLEASE! you just might save a persons life and that would be awsome!

  • Avatar SHIVA What action can be taken aginst parents specially mother who neglects her child because of her laziness?
Jun 18, 2009 by SHIVA | Posted in Parenting

If a small child of ten to eleven is subjected to physical mental and financial torture specially at hands of mother when her husband is away for work ,what action can be taken against her....is it possible to prove that …his question is not for me it is for someone i know
i am not taking it lightly but her family is scarred of her ...and if they will not take any action it is difficult for me to prove what is going in their family.

    • Don't take this lightly, it is a serious situation that I believe is happening too regularly. Please, if you know of a situation, call Child Services. If something bad should happen to the child/ren, it will be on your conscience.

NB. Where I'm from you can also be held liable for negligence (that is, knowing of but not preventing or attempting to assist).
