Need help in Boston
2003-11-25 08:03:57 by susaI am falling apart. I've struggled with bulimia for the past four years, depression, and now I think I am ready to admit that I'm an alcoholic. I've known that EDs and addiction can go hand in hand, but I didn't want to truly believe that I had a problem. Does anyone know of a therapist in Boston (preferably a female) that can help me with all of these things? I know I shouldn't be embarressed to get help, but I am so ashamed... this isn't "supposed" to happen to me-- 25, well-educated, great family... I can't do it anymore. There are days when I wonder how it is I'm holding it all together, when all I want to do is just run far far away from everything
Borderlines even terrify therapists
2008-01-24 18:23:35 by abused_by_wifeThese people are so good at getting under the skin of others, they even make professional psychotherapists get violent, break the law, etc. Often therapists will drop them as patients because they cannot stand the frequently hellish sessions with them in which the patient attacks the therapist for the whole session over no apparent issue. Sometimes they get sucked into illegal sex because Borderlines can be very seductive and charming at first and are good at manipulating others to get what they want.
I've had therapists who have done work with Borderlines tell me that one of the ways they start to suspect a patient has BPD is when they feel like they are "walking on eggshells" and are afraid when the time for the patient's session approaches

Society sees men different we are suppose to be tough and the ones to walk away from things like that and not take it. Men are abused by women pretty often actually. Psychology teaches us that women are actually more likely to be violent in a relationship than men. Tim
