Since 1977, Catholic Charities has been committed to providing language support to improve the legal immigration status of the most vulnerable immigrants and refugees to the United States, enabling them to participate fully in society. Our services cover most areas of immigration law, however, we focus especially reunite families and assist crime victims.

Immigration Services includes:

  • Initial Consultations
  • Family Reunification
  • Naturalization
  • Permanent Residence
  • Employment Authorization
  • Replacement / Renewal of Legal Permanent Resident
  • Extension of Stay
  • FOIA (Freedom of Information Act)
  • Helping immigrant women in abusive situations eligible to apply for permanent legal status under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), allowing them to leave an abusive relationship, and stay in the United States
  • Offering services and education to the people throughout the Diocese
  • Becoming a U.S. citizen: Road to citizenship guidelines for legal permanent residents interested in becoming a U.S. citizen | CLICK HERE for more information.

Aconsejeria immigration begins with a consultation for admission, these are made during certain hours but without an appointment - in the Office of Green Bay:

  • On Wednesday: 1pm-6pm
  • Thursdays: 9am-3pm

Admissions are made in Appleton and Manitowoc offices by appointment. Due to the complexity of the immigration laws, the consultations can be made by phone. Payment for an initial consultation is $ 35. Upon completion of this consultation will be given advice or information on how to proceed. If we are not able to help, you will be referred to other legal remedies that could possibly take your case.

Our immigration advisers receive partial credit by the U.S. Department of Justice - Bureau of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the highest administrative body for interpreting and applying immigration laws of the United States. "Partial Accreditation" means our immigration advisors can practice before the "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services '(USCIS), but not to the" Board of Immigration Appeals' (BIA) or Immigration Judges. In addition, we are affiliated with the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC), which provides consultation and legal advice on cases when needed. This is done by immigration lawyers.

All our charges (fees) for immigration services are based on our list of reasonable payments, payments depend on the service provided. The charges apply once your case has been accepted and the counselor have all the information needed to complete your application. Customers may request a payment reduction if they can prove their case of adversity. Payments to us are excerpts of charges for registering with USCIS.

If You Had 12 Months of Paid Free Time

2010-03-10 16:11:02 by corleonsky

Providing this is a realistic option, attorneys have been asked about their possible plans should they have a 12 months paid free time off. Here is a list of some interesting responses:
"Move to Utah, get a couple sister wives and settle down."
"As a wise man named Peter once said, “...I would do nothing.”"
"I would temporarily engage in the most self-centered, narcissistic activity I can find and then add a rum.
I would then enter Dakar Rally, assuming it’s not cancelled due to threats of terrorist reprisals

  • Avatar Pink_kitty22 Does anyone have any good information or websites for planning my wedding?
    Jan 09, 2011 by Pink_kitty22 | Posted in Engagements & Weddings

I am looking for some websites that can provide information on the rentals of fog machines and lighting as well as some good websites for the more difficult things to find like a DJ and transportation. I am not hiring a wedding planner and have no idea where to begin. I am from Ontario (near Toronto - in the GTA) so I would like some places close to me.

    • There are SO many! name a few! Google whatever you need and tons of sites will show up. I'd say start with theknot. You can search vendors in your area. I'm getting married this July and that's where I started. I'm obsessed with wedding planning! Good luck!

  • Avatar Camilla Do you know of any resources for Portuguese immigrants/ people of Portuguese ethnicity in Toronto?
Oct 01, 2009 by Camilla | Posted in Other - Cultures & Groups

Im talking about language centres, culture centres, counselling, etc. And if they are geared towards families and/or children, even better.

    • Hi there! For starters, I recommend exploring the Portuguese Alliance website:

their "Members" link, they have a huge list of Portuguese organizations in Toronto. You should especially check ou …s a worst case scenario, most local community centres have information and resources for specific cultures. I recommend asking your closest community centre for Portuguese-specific resources.

      Best of luck!

  • Avatar Why do people choose to be homosexuals?
Jul 29, 2011 by | Posted in Religion & Spirituality
    • People don't choose. They choose no more than then you chose to be straight.

Being homosexual is very difficullt due to the hate of many religious people such as yourself
and so kids end up killing …ey will be excluded from people
will be hunt down (all of them if discovered) and killed

People become homosexual, there is no choice

Though there is a choice to tolerate it

Dec 19, 2008 by Luke | Posted in Family

One of two vital players—fathers—is increasingly not showing up on the job. Why? And where will it end?

24 million children (or 34% of all kids in the United States) living in homes where the father does not …ther-absent homes have not seen their dad during the past year.
“More than half of all fatherless children have never been in their dad’s home.”

    • This is sad part.
But I have to be honest with you. What I don't understand that lot women leaving their men while they're pregnant. But why does that happened lot?
ADD: If women didn't leave them that could be become less than 40% right?

  • Avatar Avi Ron Should I come out to everyone?
May 08, 2011 by Avi Ron | Posted in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered

I am a 4th year student currently on a work term in Toronto.
Last year I started attending counseling services on campus and came to terms with being gay.
It was the first time I ever spoke ab …ery day. Sorry, but girls just don't do it for me. I used not to be sure of my sexual orientation, that is what I told my parents when I cam out to them. I am not 100% sure but then again what can I do? What should I do?

    • If you feel your ready then put your facebook to you like men and your status to hey! guess what....i like men!
then if people come up to you and ask just say "yeah! have you got a problem with that?"
